Greetings everyone! It may be cold and grey outside, but things are bright and hot at The Music Settlement. To start off, BOP STOP, our premiere nightclub, has won "Best Nightlife Spot" from the Fox 8 Buzz List. Congrats to Gabe Pollack, our BOP STOP Manager, for everything he has done in that beautiful space.
Speaking of Fox 8, our very own Martin Luther King Day celebration concert was featured on the evening news on Sunday January 18th. (TMS on Fox 8) Our Advanced Chamber Orchestra performed at Severance Hall for their Martin Luther King Day Concert as well. The growth of our ensembles and exposure of our programs here at The Music Settlement is truly inspiring. As many of you may know, I started here as a part-time orchestra teacher in the fall of 2010. At that time, we had less than 10 students enrolled in the orchestras, and very few people in the area or The Music Settlement itself were aware of our ensembles. This rise in enrollment and publicity is attributable to our hard working faculty, administrative staff, students, parents, marketing department, and department heads within the Center for Music. You all have my gratitude for your dedication and helping to further our mission.
Finally, The Music Settlement will be represented at the Ohio Music Educator’s Convention in downtown Cleveland this February 4-6. We'll will be at our booth #212, spreading the word about all of the cool things here at TMS and inviting area music educators and students to be a part of it.
There’s a lot happening here. Stay tuned to our website and event calendar for your chance to sign up for a class, ensemble, program, lessons, or scholarship auditions. Don’t miss out!
