Charles D. Lawrence - President & CEO, The Music Settlement
February 25, 2013 The whole Music Settlement family is gearing up for the final events in our Centennial celebration this April! All of our outstanding educational departments are developing numerous opportunities for you and your family to join in the fun starting with Music Therapy Day on Saturday, April 20, and ending with our campus-wide Anniversary Party the evening of April 25! All told we have six days of uninterrupted activity designed to allow you an immersion in what we do and how we do it. For those of you who are currently enrolled in a program, this week will offer you the chance to cross over into other programs and offerings that form our comprehensive music education and healing experience. If you're a music student, I challenge you to step away from your studio to visit our extraordinary early education programs or experience the healing power of our world-class Music Therapy program. Likewise to those in other curriculums, I encourage you and your family to connect to an experience that stretches not only your perception of what The Music Settlement does, but also your perception of yourself. This is the chance you've been waiting for to join a drum circle, or literally jump for joy! Bring your entire family out for the day dedicated to meet the teachers, administrators, and volunteers who have made our programs the very best in the community for the past 100 years! We will have lots of things to choose from each day, including visits with old friends and special guests, reunion of past eras and classes, hands on fun, and even performances specially planned for family fun. If you've never visited our campus, this is your chance to experience all that we do at your own pace and free of charge. Visit our beautiful facilities on Magnolia Drive in the heart of University Circle, tour the historic Burke Mansion, home of our Department of Music, and see for yourself our magical Early Childhood center where dreams come true every day. Click here for more information on Reunion Week and to register for any (or all!) of the days! Reunion Week is FREE, but registration is required. I also recommend that you join us on April 25 as an audience member for our live broadcast on WCLV radio from 10am to 4pm, and attend Generations of Music: A Centennial Anniversary Party that evening. This is your chance to experience the full range of performance and experience that we do at The Music Settlement, while enjoying a really fun evening too. More information on the Anniversary Party is available by clicking here. You can buy tickets online, or by calling (216) 421-5806 ext. 186. Come to our campus in April and get to know The Music Settlement better! Please join the rest of your Music Settlement family for our very special celebration - I'll see you there! Sincerely, |
